Rationale
Many of today’s youth are searching for ways to contribute to society, build community and companionship, and deepen their spirituality. As volunteers, they will be provided with opportunities to do all of these. They will give their time, energy, competencies and talents for the people in need. They will find meaning in life-giving sacrifice and discover the fullness of life that await those who heed the call to service.

Objectives
The Letran Community Volunteers is an organization dedicated to the task of community building in the spirit of volunteerism and faith-driven service.

The volunteers are formed and trained to effectively render service to the community.
The volunteers are empowered to take part in the work towards social change through community development.

Guiding Principles
Christ’s teachings of LOVE of GOD and LOVE of NEIGHBOR - LOVE that forms volunteers and builds people.

Volunteerism is becoming servants of the Lord, workers for His vineyard.

No one is poor that you cannot give anything. Coming from a poor family, you must show the people that even if you are poor, you can still do something for others. Everyone has much to give for the needs of communities are vast and varied.

You volunteer neither because of money nor fame. You volunteer because you want to make a difference not only in your life, but also in the lives of the people you served.

As a volunteer, you are not expected to tell the people what to do. You are expected to guide them to do things that are right for them. You should be able to show to them that they have the capacity to do things on their own.

The people you served will truly appreciate whatever it is you do for them, not just because you do it on a volunteer basis, but more so because they can see that you put your heart and soul into it.

The measure of volunteerism is how much you have given effort to improve the lives of the people you served.
